QUOTH THE WRITER ANTHOLOGY
On June 30, 2021, Quoth the Writer, L.L.C. will be releasing its first anthology. The stories, essays, and poems to be featured in it will revolve around disease, pandemics, plagues, anarchy, and/or apocalypse caused by disease/pandemic. However, these stories, essays, and poems haven't been found yet!
I, Lisa Hodorovych of Quoth the Writer, L.L.C., am looking for compelling fiction stories, non-fiction essays, and poems to be featured in my companies first compilation. Again, the theme is disease, plague, pandemic, anarchy, and/or apocalypse. Obviously, this decision has been influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently ravaging our world. Please note, though, your piece does not have to be set in this time period nor does it have to mention this particular illness. It can be set in any time period and it can mention any disease, if that's what you want to write about.
There is a submission fee of $5.00. This will cover printing costs, however, any contributors will also get a space on this website to feature their other works, books, website, etc. The fee can be sent via Venmo or PayPal.
Deadline for submissions is May 1, 2021. There is a word-count/page limit. For fiction and non-fiction, the word-count limit is 10,000 words (40 pages double-spaced). For poems, the maximum you can send is ten (10) poems. The planned length of this anthology is 300 pages. What I'm mainly looking for is a story, essay, or poem focusing on the theme. Please NO erotica! Some language is fine, but don't let every other word be a curse word. Also, do not worry about formatting as I'll take care of that. Just make sure it is a Word document (you can send a PDF if you don't have Word) with double-spaces in 12-pt font and Times New Roman.
If your work does not get featured in this anthology, please do not fret. If this works out well, I will continue publishing more anthologies, so you can always try again.
Contributors will receive ONE (1) FREE copy of the anthology when it comes out. Any further copies wanted (to give to family, friends, co-workers, etc.) will be sold at a discounted rate of 50%. In other words, if the book costs $30.00 then the contributor will pay $15.00 per additional copy.
Lastly, when it comes to copyright, the contributor retains the right to their work. However, when it comes to the anthology, Quoth the Writer retains the right to it, so no one - without permission - copies it for their own profit.
To submit your work, please send it to email@example.com with the subject reading as so, "Pandemic Anthology - Your Last Name - The Form You're Sending" (ex: Pandemic Anthology - Hodorovych - Fiction). You can also use this email for any questions you have about this.
